Temperature Control
As you are aware, summer is here and with it the issues that occur with hot temperatures. It is our goal that all refrigerated and frozen shipments are maintained to ensure product integrity upon delivery to our customers.

Temperature issues on loads continue to be a problem. It is the Drivers responsibility to make sure the unit is running at the correct setting. Always check units when picking up at the shipper to make sure it is set correctly and running properly before leaving. Check the bill of lading for the correct temperature. Also communicate with your Fleet Manager or Central Control in case there are any discrepancies. Know which loads should run on Cycle or Continuous as these do change according to the season. Certain loads require check calls - Ice Cream, Produce, Poultry, etc. to make sure the units are not having any issues. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask for help.

Importance of Communication
We must all do a better job of communicating issues regarding our trailers. Dropping a trailer with problems at a shipper without bringing the issues to someone’s attention leads to bad service and a delay for the contractor picking up the loaded trailer! We realize sometimes circumstances create issues where you are in a hurry to make sure the loaded trailer is picked up and delivered on time. The trailer you dropped may need some attention; you must advise us of this before it gets reloaded and creates a service failure. Please communicate trailer issues to your fleet managers, safety persons or central control, but please do not leave it to be taken care of by the next contractor that picks up the bad trailer you dropped. Please start helping each other!

Com Data Card
When purchasing fuel with anything other than your Com Data card you will need to turn those receipts in to the fuel tax department. It is important you include on the receipt your tractor #, your signature, gallon amount and the purchase date. Feel free to give Brenda Dukesherer (ext. 2669) in the Lakeland office a call for any questions regarding fuel tax.

Referral Bonuses are back
Here is your opportunity to earn extra cash. Starting May 31, 2010 any present driver referring an owner operator who leases on with Sunco and stays with Sunco will get a $1,000 bonus. This is a huge opportunity for you to not only help Sunco, but to increase your own earnings. (3 payments - paid over 180 days)

Sign On Bonuses are Back
We are also presently paying a $1000 sign-on bonus to each new operator who signs a lease with Sunco. (3 payments - paid over 180 days) This is a great selling tool for you.

OS&D Reminder
If a receiver is keeping damaged or overage product, the bill of lading must be noted by the receiver that they KEPT the product. Failure to have this on the bill can cause a charge back to drivers if a claim is filed.

School’s Out
Pay extra special attention to your surroundings. All through the summer vacation children will be out and about so just a reminder to...LOOK OUT FOR THE KIDS– THEY ARE THE FUTURE!

HEALTH INSURANCE
Information coming your way soon for open enrollment...we will notify you when it is available.
